ON APPLICATION FOR REINSTATEMENT

This proceeding arises out of an application for reinstatement filed by petitioner, Sangbahn Y. Scere, an attorney currently suspended from the practice of law in Louisiana.

UNDERLYING FACTS AND PROCEDURAL HISTORY

Petitioner has a significant history of both traffic and criminal violations. Among her more serious violations, she was arrested and charged with providing a false identity to an arresting officer and multiple DWIs. Following this misconduct, petitioner successfully completed a ninety-day inpatient treatment program and entered into a five-year Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program monitoring agreement. On April 15, 2019, the court accepted a petition for consent discipline suspending petitioner from the practice of law for two years. In re: Scere, 19-0082 (La. 4/15/19), 267 So. 3d 581.

Petitioner subsequently filed an application for reinstatement with the disciplinary board, alleging she has complied with the reinstatement criteria set forth in Supreme Court Rule XIX, § 24(E). The Office of Disciplinary Counsel filed a notice concurring in petitioners reinstatement. Accordingly, the matter was referred to the disciplinary boards adjudicative committee chair, who approved petitioners petition for reinstatement and recommended the petition be granted.

After considering the record, we will adopt the adjudicative committee chairs recommendation and reinstate petitioner to the practice of law, subject to the conditions set forth in the ODCs notice of concurrence.

DECREE

Upon review of the recommendation of the disciplinary boards adjudicative committee chair, and considering the record, it is ordered that Sangbahn Y. Scere, Louisiana Bar Roll number 31958, be immediately reinstated to the practice of law in Louisiana, subject to the conditions set forth in the ODCs notice of concurrence. All costs of these proceedings are assessed against petitioner.
