Granted. The court of appeal erred in finding the district court lacked subject matter jurisdiction over plaintiffs civil action for damages. See La. R.S. 15:1177(A); Pope v. State, 99-2559 (La. 6/29/01), 792 So. 2d 713. Accordingly, the judgment of the court of appeal is vacated, and the case is remanded to the district court for further proceedings.
