BAR ADMISSIONS PROCEEDING
Petitioner applied to take the July 2023 Louisiana bar examination. By letter dated May 23, 2023, the Committee on Bar Admissions (“Committee”) advised petitioner that it could not certify him to take the bar exam on character and fitness grounds primarily involving his history of drug- and alcohol-related criminal offenses.
Petitioner then applied to this court for permission to take the bar exam. On June 14, 2023, we granted petitioner permission to sit for the bar exam, with the condition that, upon his successful completion of the exam, he apply for the appointment of a commissioner to take character and fitness evidence. In re: Committee on Bar Admissions CFN-834192, 23-0769 (La. 6/14/23), 362 So. 3d 402.
Petitioner successfully passed the July 2023 bar exam. He then applied to this court, seeking the appointment of a commissioner. We remanded this matter to the Committee on Bar Admissions Panel on Character and Fitness to conduct an investigation and appointed a commissioner to take character and fitness evidence.
Following a hearing, the commissioner filed his report with this court, recommending that petitioner be admitted to the practice of law. Neither party objected to this recommendation.
Considering the commissioners recommendation and the entire record of this proceeding, we conclude petitioner is eligible to be admitted to the practice of law in Louisiana.
ADMISSION GRANTED.
