SUPREME COURT OF LOUISIANA

NO. 2024-B-0623

IN RE: LANE N. BENNETT

ATTORNEY DISCIPLINARY PROCEEDING

PER CURIAM

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (“ODC”) commenced an investigation into allegations that respondent violated Rule 5.3 of the Rules of Professional Conduct. This misconduct occurred in the same time frame as the misconduct forming the basis of respondents earlier disciplinary matter, wherein he was suspended from the practice of law for three years. Prior to the filing of formal charges addressing this new misconduct, respondent and the ODC submitted a joint petition for consent discipline. Having reviewed the petition, IT IS ORDERED that the Petition for Consent Discipline be accepted and that Lane Norwood Bennett, Louisiana Bar Roll number 25982, be adjudged guilty of additional violations warranting discipline that shall be considered in the event he applies for reinstatement from his suspension in In re: Bennett, 21-1198 (La. 3/25/22), 339 So. 3d 565, after becoming eligible to do so.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that all costs and expenses in the matter are assessed against respondent in accordance with Supreme Court Rule XIX, § 10.1, with legal interest to commence thirty days from the date of finality of this courts judgment until paid.
