Opinion

Plaintiffs’ bad faith claims against defendants were dismissed with prejudice by final judgment dated July 6, 2022. Pursuant to La. R.S. 13:4231, this judgment is conclusive between the parties and served to extinguish any cause of action plaintiffs may have had to recover bad faith penalties and attorney fees against defendants.

Accordingly, the writ is granted and made peremptory. The judgment of the trial court denying defendants’ exception of res judicata is reversed, and the exception of res judicata is granted. Because this action renders defendants’ remaining exceptions moot, the writ is denied in all other respects.

PER CURIAM

Hughes, J., dissents and would deny.
