The Confederate money was paid to the sheriff by the defendant on the 27th April, 1865, after the Confederate Government had failed, and at that time was worthless, and was not a valid payment of the debt: Harley vs. Thornton, 2d Hill’s South Carolina Reports, 509. Let the judgment of the Court below be reversed.
